The forgotten keepby *Silinde-Ar-Feiniel

An isolated place, hidden by the clouds, that served once as a refuge and heaven for mages and all creatures of magic, far from the eyes of men. As people's belief in magic faded, the keep was forgotten and it's location was lost. It is said that only those who trully believe in magic can find the lost way...

This is my first matte painting! A speedpaint matte painting, if there is such a thing lol. I've really learned a lot of things!

I really love the cloudy atmosphere of it, the way the light catches the towers, the clouds, the mountains. The subject may be fantasy-like, yet it's a pretty accurate depiction of a real dawn in the misty mountains, in terms of light.

Thank you so much for your comment! I'm glad that you like the lighting, that's one of the sectors I really try to get better and better as I feel is the most important for shaping and focusing subjects

With proper light, you can make an illusion real

Magical. It's wonderfully composed, textured and has beautiful sunset colours. I suppose my only suggestion would be to add some tones to the birds because even compared to the castle, which is the farthest away they are the least detailed. from the thumbnail they are the only thing giving away the fact that its not 100% real to me. Other than that it is brilliant!

It is a speedpaint, so not many details were added, but I suppose you're right about the birds, I'll surely have that in mind next time and hope it will help me to progress further!
