Legends, Fantasy, Mithology. It all facinates us and inspire us in our humble art. But why let it all stay in the past? We ourselves, can create the mithologies of today. What our friend did there is simply stunning. A legendary bird of dark omen, painting the skies red just before disaster strikes, striking fear into the living. The piece itself does not fall behind it's tale in matter of impressiveness. The dark bird, flying to encounter one spectral dragon-like creature above a forest. Is the bird an foretelling the dragon's arrival, or maybe of it's destruction? Only the artist could tell us. The contrast of the bright sky above the dragon and the darkness brought by the bird is breathtaking. This is the kind of illustration I would like to see in epic tale books.
I really hope more artists would care to share with us the mithology they create.
If you look to the right of your picture, you have different sharing options enabled, amongst them facebook, twitter and tumblr. Tumblr is great for having your art spread to a blogging-crazy audience. It can be a very good thing. However, it also happened to me once that a photo of mine had been uploaded to tumblr by someone else, without giving credit. When I realized it the photo had been reblogged already a 500 times.. deleting the original source file did not have any effect. So tumblr is a page that not every artist appreciates. On the other hand you must be aware that once you upload something to the web anything can happen... Anyway, the sharing option on deviantart adds the artist credits and link automatically. But you can also disable it.
I guess it's as good as internet is then. Let's hope that most of the people are kind like you. I'm fully aware of all the dangers of the net, but I choosed to expose my work (and myself), so I just hope that people care about art and artists With that said, thank you once again
Excellent job. I especially love the path the raven is leaving behind it. It's a thick and evil fog that sweeps over to consume everything. Fits the atmosphere perfectly.
